Episode 33: Interview with Emily Pope, Co-Founder: The Temper

We couldn’t squeeze in a photoshoot with Emily, but she’s amazing, and a true light in this world. 😘

We had the pleasure of interviewing Emily Pope, Co-Founder of The Temper, and Director of Marketing at Tempest.

Emily Kate Pope is the co-founder of The Temper (https://www.thetemper.com), an online sober-culture magazine that explores life through the lens of sobriety, addiction, and recovery. She's also the Director of Marketing for Tempest (https://www.jointempest.com), an online sobriety school and aftercare program dedicated to giving you the education, tools, and community you need to build a life free from alcohol. Emily lives in Brooklyn with her partner, Will, and their cat, Obie. She got sober when she was 23-years-old and has been alcohol-free for over five years.

She knew she needed a change when:
”I reached this point where I thought; this sucks, I hate drinking. This isn’t fun for me, I can’t control it, and I don’t feel like myself when I’m drinking.”

She walks us through her sobriety journey, joining AA, breaking up with AA, and being a sober young adult.
Eventually, she teamed up with Holly, and thank goodness!, they created The Temper together.

She’s a badass, and a sober inspiration. Also, she’s a genuine light to be around.
